Email privacy act

Techfreedom.org mentioned in a recent article that despite a petition with over 100,000 signatures on http://whitehouse.gov, the administration has done nothing to rein in law enforcement’s warrantless email searches.

The Email Privacy Act (HR 1852) attempts to stop this violation of US citizens’ Fourth Amendment rights. The article concludes,

If you want to stop warrantless searches of your emails, go to VanishingRights.com to see if your representative is a sponsor — if they’re not, ask them to be, and if they are, thank them! We can win this fight, but only if we show that the public is behind reform. Act now!
