Founder of Citrix dies

Ed Iacobucci, the founder of Ciitrix, the leading publisher of thin-client software that enables cloud-based computing, died last week. He was 60 years old.

Ed left Citrix in 2000. Because Citrix was 100% dependent upon the success of Microsoft Windows, I didn’t give them much hope for long-term success. It seemed that Microsoft could have squashed Citrix like a bug. I was wrong. Apparently Citrix controlled key patents that kept Microsoft at bay. Citrix has grown to over $3 billion in sales.
